Dagny's dashboard builder now understands the data it's querying, so the boards you ask for arrive complete, honest about failures, and easier to track while they build.
Ask Dagny for a dashboard and the hard part has always been the middle: translating your brief into real queries against Stripe, Search Console, Slack, Shopify or Meta. Until now the builder was guessing at what those connectors expected — which fields were required, which values were allowed — and when the guesses missed, it quietly shipped an empty shell that looked finished. The builder now reads the actual argument schema for every tool it can call, so it constructs valid queries the first time and corrects specific bad parameters instead of retrying blindly. Just as importantly, it will refuse to finalize a dashboard whose core metrics never loaded. You get an honest, retryable failure rather than a plausible-looking board with nothing behind it.
We also fixed the two failures that stopped good builds from crossing the finish line. Runs that had working widgets but ran out of room to explore now have a larger step budget and a clear instruction to prioritize saving real work over chasing perfection. And nested API responses — Stripe's in particular — are no longer misread as empty, thanks to deeper row extraction and error messages the builder can learn from mid-run. More dashboards now complete and save with real data in them. When one genuinely can't finish, the failure carries diagnostics — what it tried, which queries ran, which widgets passed, the errors it hit — so a support conversation about a broken build starts with answers instead of questions.
Connections got more dependable in the same spirit. When Dagny needs a tool you haven't set up yet, chat now shows an inline Connect or Reconnect card right beneath the reply, so you can authorize in place and keep going rather than hunting through settings and losing your thread. Behind the scenes, we repaired a Notion write capability that had silently stopped working after Notion renamed one of its tools, cleared out retired Stripe aliases, and added a daily check that probes every connector's live tool catalog for changes. If a provider renames something next month, we'll know within a day — not fifteen.
A few smaller improvements round things out. Long-running dashboard and presentation builds started from chat now appear in your Inbox as Building… while they work, then flip to ready or failed on their own, so you can close the tab and come back. The Home screen quiets down while you type, hiding the glance cards and setup nudge so the composer is all that's in front of you. Our pricing page reads more plainly now — every plan starts free, and we never train on your data — with Norwegian copy updated to match. And quiet workspaces no longer burn through hourly background passes when nothing has changed, a change that trims a substantial slice of our compute without you noticing anything but the occasional hour of extra patience.
Ask for a dashboard and you should get a dashboard — or a clear reason why not. That's the bar we're holding ourselves to.
