Campaign terms

The short version: join the competition, ship, and Drippa turns what you merge into public release notes that score points. Public teams go on the leaderboard and may be featured in our promotion; private teams score quietly. It's free all summer, and you can change how you play, or leave, at any time.
What Drippa reads
The campaign reads the pull requests you merge and drafts release notes from them. Write access to your repositories is only ever used by automations you explicitly turn on — never to enter the competition. Joining changes nothing about how Drippa accesses your code beyond what the GitHub App you install already grants.
Publishing your release notes
If your team is public, the release notes Drippa drafts publish automatically to your public Drippa page, where anyone can read them — that automatic publishing is what puts points on the board. Prefer to sign off first? Switch to review mode in settings and every note waits for your publish. Want to score without being seen? Go private, and your notes and rank stay yours alone. You can change any of this at any time.
Featuring your team
Public teams may be featured in Summer of Shipping promotion — the public leaderboard, posts on Drippa's social channels, and Drippa's website — using your organization name, logo, and shipping stats (things like your rank, streak, and published note count). Private teams are never featured. Going private in settings opts you out of promotion at any time.
Free during the campaign
Generating and publishing release notes is free for participants for the length of the campaign, subscription or not. A fair-use limit applies to keep things sustainable; genuinely exceptional usage beyond it returns to normal billing. Drippa's other features — the agent, automations, scoping — are not part of this offer and keep their normal subscription and credit terms.
Scoring and the board
Points come from the release notes you publish; ranks update every Monday-to-Sunday week. We may tune the scoring rules during the campaign to keep the board fair, and our scoring and eligibility decisions are final. Placement isn't guaranteed, and the board is provided as-is for the fun of it.
Changes, and leaving
Participation is voluntary and free, and you can leave the campaign at any time from settings. We may adjust or end Summer of Shipping, and we'll let participants know of any material change. These campaign terms sit on top of your existing Drippa account agreement — they add to it, they don't replace it.
